THE QUEST FOR A

SMARTPHONE

TUTOR

When Meredith couldn't find an in-home tutor to teach her Mom how to use her smartphone, she began searching for retired teachers who could help not only her Mom, but her mother's neighbors and friends so they could learn together in a fun, social setting.

After years of working in user experience research and product development, she started TeachUTech: a smartphone and tablet education company for senior citizens. Her team develops fun curriculums to teach adults how to more comprehensively use their own devices.

Courses are 4-weeks to help increase the outcome of knowledge retention (based on participants' active participation).

Abstract Blue Pattern

"It wasn't just my family.

Others needed smartphone education for their loved ones.

"I knew lots of friends and co-workers struggling to help their parents learn how to use their own smartphone or tablet beyond just making phone calls.

They spent hours trying to walk their parents or elderly loved ones through basic tasks, which only made their parents more dependent on them. This can cause a lot of stress and anxiety for families.

My family and I weren't comfortable having someone come into my mother's home by herself. Community centers and senior living properties offered classes every once in a while with staffers, but I knew that wouldn't help long-term.

So, I started a smartphone education company designed to help older adults learn how to use their own devices."
